Children are more Vulnerable of effects of climate change than adults.According to WHO approximately 88% of existing global diseases caused by climate change affect children under 5 yrs of age, they bear the greatest burden of climate change.
Children rights are also undermined in the face of climate change.Children have an absolute right to live in a decent environment, access to good health,Nutritious food and living in safety.
Key impacts of climate change that effects the enjoyment of children rights include:
1.Extreme weather events and Natural disasters.
2.Water Scarcity and food insecurity.
4.Vector-borne and infectious diseases
5.Impacts on Mental health.
We need additional public health investment and interventions to educate people about the risks climate change poses to children and how to protect them from its effects.
